MicroClean is the winner of the “Entrepreneur's Christmas Gift” award
MicroClean took first place in the aquaculture competition "Gründerjulepresangen” with its technology designed to effectively eliminate listeriosis and bacteria.

The Entrepreneur Christmas Gift is a competition aimed at entrepreneurs in the aquaculture sector and offers practical entrepreneurial support in a number of areas, in addition to a cash prize.
The prize is intended to give the winner a unique opportunity to launch and commercialize a new idea, product, or service for the aquaculture industry.
Kyst.no can now reveal that the winner of this year’s “Entrepreneur’s Christmas Gift” is the company MicroClean.
Scientifically proven
The company’s technology involves using wet heat via microwaves and “radiation.” According to SINTEF, the company’s method effectively kills all pathogenic bacteria and biofilm—at a rate of over 99.99%—on all plastic production equipment.
“It feels absolutely fantastic to get confirmation that we’ve done something right,” says founder Dan Roger Olsen of MicroClean AS to Kyst.no.
He says their technology can disinfect conveyor belts while production is underway, and that it is a safe, eco-friendly technology.
- “This is, after all, a technology that many people can benefit from. The jury said there was substance to what we were presenting and emphasized that our approach was scientifically validated.”
MicroClean’s technology was developed in collaboration with the research communities at NOFIMA in Tromsø, SINTEF in Trondheim, and the University of Karlsruhe.
One of the world’s largest radiation technology groups, which works in the fields of aviation, space technology, and the automotive industry, has helped design and deliver the technology.
According to MicroClean, the following conclusion has been scientifically confirmed upon completion of the work.

Olsen says they have worked hard to scientifically validate everything, and adds that they are pleased the jury believed in their product.
